Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro

Having tested the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, I’d like to share my impressions of these wireless earbuds.

Sound Quality: The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro provide clear and balanced highs and mids, but the bass feels somewhat shallow, and the sound stage could be wider. Instrument separation also leaves something to be desired, particularly when stacked against higher-end models like the Sennheiser Momentum 4.

Design and Comfort: The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro boast a sleek and compact design, marking a significant upgrade from prior versions. However, I found them less comfortable for prolonged use due to the shorter ear tip. After about 30 minutes, I experienced discomfort and earache. A slightly longer design could significantly improve comfort levels.

Comparison with Premium Headphones: In comparison to premium headphones such as the Sennheiser Momentum 4, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro offer a similar sound balance at a much lower price point. While the Sennheisers provide a wider and deeper sound stage and superior instrument separation, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro manage to deliver good sound quality and value.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): The ANC feature is adequate but not standout. It effectively diminishes some background noise, but struggles with louder environments.

Overall Impression: The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are a solid option thanks to their balanced sound and elegant design. However, enhancements in comfort, sound stage, and instrumentation separation would certainly elevate the user experience. If you’re looking for budget-friendly wireless earbuds with decent sound quality, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are certainly worth a look.

After careful research, I concluded that these are the best headphones for the price. Samsung, through its collaboration with Harman and AKG, has created a fantastic product. The audio quality is excellent, with truly exceptional bass. The only downside is the active noise cancellation, which doesn’t quite match Bose’s performance. However, I personally never use it and prioritize sound quality instead. That said, the noise cancellation in these Samsung headphones works quite well; it’s just the one area where I feel another brand has outperformed them.

I’ve had these earbuds for four days now, and I wanted to share my thoughts. The music experience has been absolutely fantastic! This is my first time using TWS with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) enabled, and I snagged them during the Great India Festival sale for ₹7,300, which felt like an incredible deal.

ANC: The ANC does an excellent job of blocking out external noise, although I found that if someone speaks to you suddenly, that sound can cut through the noise cancellation. Being new to ANC, I was genuinely impressed by how effective this technology is. It creates the perfect atmosphere for enjoying music, and I can’t imagine wanting earphones without ANC again. However, after a month of use, I’ve noticed that the ANC performance can be inconsistent at times.

Touch Control: These earbuds come loaded with features, but I find it challenging to use the double-tap function for both changing tracks and adjusting volume. Sometimes, controlling the volume can be tricky. There’s an app that allows you to manage settings, including a helpful widget for quickly toggling ANC and touch controls. While I appreciate the features, I wish they had a swipe gesture like the Pixel Buds for volume control, which would be more convenient—even if it might consume more battery. My biggest frustration has been with the volume control, so I ended up disabling that feature.

Battery: With ANC on, I typically get around four hours of use from the buds, and the case lasts over two days. Charging is quick, and without ANC, I can enjoy music for more than five hours.

Connectivity: I can connect these buds to my laptop and multiple phones, but not simultaneously. If they’re linked to one device, you’ll need to disconnect to pair with another. This isn’t a major issue; I’ve had no trouble with connectivity, even with my older devices.

24-bit and 360-Degree Audio: These features are only compatible with Samsung phones running the latest ONE UI. I find these extras a bit gimmicky and not particularly useful. The 360° audio is impressive, although I haven’t tested it extensively; it might be unique to these TWS. If you don’t need these features, the Buds2 could be a better choice for those on a budget.

Sound Quality and Bass: The sound and bass are crystal clear and well-balanced, allowing you to appreciate every instrument distinctly. The audio quality is exceptional, unlike anything I’ve experienced with other earphones.

Size, Fitting, and Appearance: I don’t understand why some criticize these for being bulky; they fit easily in my pocket. While the buds are great, wearing them for over three hours can become uncomfortable.

Update after six months of use: The build quality is solid, but I’ve noticed a decline in sound quality with each software update. The Buds2 Pro have lost their original audio signature, which was their standout feature. The latest update has boosted the treble, making it uncomfortable for my ears. While there’s an option to downgrade the firmware, it’s frustrating that Samsung is making these changes. For the price, it’s not worth it if this continues. I hope they release a new update that restores the audio quality; otherwise, I would recommend considering other earbuds.

The earbuds sport a sleek, modern design. They are small and discreet, making them easy to wear without attracting too much attention. However, the glossy finish can attract fingerprints, which is a slight drawback.

Voice Assistant Integration (5/5):
The integration with Bixby and other voice assistants is seamless and responsive. It’s convenient to control music and make calls using voice commands.

In summary, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are an impressive upgrade that offers excellent sound quality, superb noise cancellation, and comfort for long use. Whether you’re a music lover or need dependable earbuds for calls and productivity, these won’t let you down. My friends Amaranth AJ, Govind S, and Bilal were also very impressed after trying them. Personally, I consider these the best earbuds I have ever used, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy without hesitation.
